Why Spanish Courses in Guadalajara
Guadalajara is approximately 40 minutes from Madrid; accessible by highway or motorway. In addition, it is perfectly connected to Madrid by buses and railroad lines.
Besides its excellent location in the centre of the Peninsula, the city is characterized by its tranquillity and easy access to all its services. It is not necessary to move around a lot and it has new, high-quality hotels, adapted to everyone’s needs.
Guadalajara’s cultural offering and complementary activities are very attractive throughout the year, with shows, theatre, exhibitions, concerts, courses… and its monuments are very interesting and full of history.
Close to Madrid, Guadalajara is famous in history thanks to personalities such as the Marques de Santillana and the outstanding Mendoza family, witnessed by the Infantado and Don Antonio Mendoza palaces. Add to these the San Francisco and San Ginés churches and other types of monuments, such as the Luis de Lucena chapel and the Alamin Tower. Altogether, these form a very interesting tourist route in order to enjoy the unique attractions of this province.
The Madrid-Barajas airport is as close to Madrid city centre as it is to Guadalajara city centre which makes it easy to visit the capital of Spain. Madrid is a stunning city offering visitors more activities than you can simply imagine. Between Madrid and Guadalajara there is also an incredible town, Alcala de Henares. Universally popular as one of the best writers in the word, Miguel de Cervantes, was born there. Alcala de Henares has been a Humanity and National Heritage site city since 1998 and is one of the most popular towns in Spain.
We mustn’t forget that the city has companies specialized in extreme sports, trekking, horse riding, quads etc.
This is one of the most beautiful and well preserved treasures of Guadalajara. It is located approximately an hour and a half from Madrid and can be reached by car or bus.
Siguenza is an old medieval city with its cathedral, its cobblestone streets, its craft shops… It is important to highlight its medieval fair, where the city elegantly offers its whole tradition and inherent charm.
Although the Parador Nacional de Turismo is the most important hotel of the province there are other possible lodgings with facilities for meetings or events such as rural houses and special hotels, offering a charming alternative.
The gastronomy is exquisite in the city and the surrounding area, with top-quality products which are cooked traditionally. The matanza (slaughter) is very typical as is the asado (roast meat)…
Nature and everything surrounding it is of special interest in the area. Going for a walk in the countryside or descending a waterfall are just samples of what awaits you.
Trillo, Cogolludo, Pastrana…
